All you need are boneless skinless chicken breasts, garlic, and brown sugar. The way they caramelize in the oven gives them such an amazing flavor, you won’t believe it.
The recipe comes together in practically no time and only takes 20 minutes to bake, so you really can have dinner on the table in thirty minutes, and I am sure all ingredients needed are already inside your pantry and fridge.
HOW TO MAKE BROWN SUGAR GARLIC CHICKEN?
- preheat oven to 400F and spray a casserole dish with cooking spray
- Saute minced garlic in the olive oil until translucent but not browned. Set aside
- Place the chicken breasts in the casserole dish and sprinkle with salt and pepper on both sides
- Mix brown sugar into the sauteed garlic and distribute evenly on top of the chicken breasts
- bake, uncovered for 15 to 20 minutes or until chicken breasts are cooked through.
WHAT TO SERVE WITH GARLIC CHICKEN?
Choose one carb food like rice, Mexican potatoes, or pasta and one veggie. You can serve steamed veggies or a side salad. Really this chicken can be served with a wide variety of side dishes.
My family loves it with white rice and salad. Pan-fried baby potatoes would be great too.
FREEZE GARLIC CHICKEN;
Let the chicken breasts cool completely and store them in an airtight container or a freezer bag for up to 3 months.
RECIPE TIPS;
While the chicken breasts are baking, you may see the brown sugar starting to get burned on the edges of the casserole dish. If this happens before your chicken is done cooking, just take your dish out of the oven and remove the burnt sugar with a spoon.
The sugar will stick to the spoon, so just put it in a glass of water and let it soak there until the sugar dissolves. You do want to remove any burnt sugar before it gets too black. This does not always happen by the way.

Very good, I added a little onion powder and red pepper flakes. I’ll double the sauce next time to put on the rice I served with it! Thanks for the recipeReply

Can you make this with drumsticks?

If you like brown meat, I would rather you use boneless, skinless thighs! Bone-in chicken takes longer to cook

My grown up son loves it I use thighs boneless. So good

Could this be made in an air fryer? It looks so delicious!

To be honest, I’ve never tried to make it in an air fryer, but if you do please let me know how it turns out. I think it may be a little too hot for the sugar, but who knows! You might just invent a new way to make this recipe!
