nice price, but I've never bought a used controller before. I'm kinda grossed out about that. But then again, I should be grossed out about anything used I buy

It’s not headphones or underwear . You probably touch things everyday that are worst ….
I’d be more worried about drift and such . Guess can be returned if there’s an issue

The new controller is a better deal. It comes with a 1 year warranty and a lot of credit cards will extend that to 2 years.
I just got a brand new controller for a launch PS5 because I bought the PS5 1 year and 11 months ago and it was drifting. It started drifting probably a few months into it (with rare use - probably used it for a total of 10 hours before it was drifting) but I procrastinated replacing it because I didn't play it much until it was almost at the deadline.
These controllers are not yet reliable enough to buy used and forego the warranty. Remember a new one comes with a 1 year warranty standard, and with a lot of credit cards that's extended to 2 years if you use it to purchase.
I heard the new post-launch controllers are a little different. I don't know if they're better or worse with drift but the launch ones had a lot of drift issues.

I wouldn't buy a used controller especially a PS used controller because they get stick drift so fast so I'd assume some of these might have them. My original PS5 controller got stick drift on both of the sticks with about a year and I don't even play that often and definitely don't play FPS games.

I dont' think it'll be that bad, gamestop was flooded with ps5 controllers trade-in for the past few years since almost every retailers requires customers to buy PS5 in a bundle w/ an extra controller. Pretty sure there will be a large number of them that is practically new and only handling was probably taking it out of the retail box, and shoving it into the used packaging box at gamestop/ebgames

Caveat emptor. My brother bought one of these from Gamestop, and it works fine.
I opened it up to install a bigger battery, and it had clearly been refurbished. The screws were of different colours, some of the plastic binding clips were white from being bent out and bent back. Finally the battery inside had been replaced. Usually the PS5 battery is a LIP1708. This was a SNYHR37, which is the same capacity, but but might have been for the PS3.
At the sale price right now for the new controllers, I would probably get new.

I guarantee these will have stick drift. I would recommend staying away from used controllers.

Why buy used when $25 more will get you an untouched brand new 2nd generation controller?

More drift than a Ridge Racer game.

My thumbstick drift started after 2 years. You'd have to desoder to fix it so theres a chance these will have drifting. Just my 2 cents.
