-WEIRD SCIENCE-

Okay, what? I can't believe that I'm giving this movie a positive review, I can't believe this. The movie's premise is indeed very sexist and it is just another nerd sex comedy, but there's something fascinating to me about this one. Maybe because of how plain bizarre it all is.So we have two nerds, Anthony Michael Hall and Ilan Mitchell-Smith who are fed up about being losers who can't "get with" girls so they hatch up a plan. Using 80's sciencey-things they literally BUILD their own woman who is basically their sex Goddess. She does whatever they tell her. The movie then gets, well, weird. The whole thing about these two somehow making a living breathing person who does whatever they say is so out there that physics and nature begins to fall into itself! What?!The movie is incredibly strange, indeed. But I kind of recommend it. I know, its content might make some squirm (it did for me) but things take a turn for the better as the movie progresses, somehow. Specifically with Lisa, the woman they created. You see, they decided to give her a brain so she can logically think and act for herself, she isn't just their slave. In fact, she's just mostly there to guide both of them along their way in the world of love and lust. She's actually more of a big sister than a mistress to them, and I can respect it for that. This movie is far from perfect and hasn't held up as well as many other John Hughes movies have, but it's still good for a laugh and surprisingly meaningful film.

Awesome 80s movie with a plot that revolves around love.

This is an amazing movie, it’s plot revolves around two teenage boys who make a perfect woman. It’s mostly about sex but there isn’t any sex scenes either. There is a part where a bunch of sex magazines show breasts and buttocks and a girl with a top off, and some innuendo but that’s pretty much it for sex. It does swear and has a typical R rated movie vibe, though it isn’t R. This is a great movie to watch with your kids because it’s funny and cool, but only if you’ll allow them to see some R-rated stuff. Still amazing and a must-watch.

literally a summary of high school boys

This movie is AMAZING. It’s so funny and is one of my favorite 80s movies. Yes, there are a lot of inappropriate jokes in it, but if you’re a high school teen like me then u hear these jokes ALL THE TIME by kids in school.

Great, but definitely for an older audience.

This movie was great. It was a funny and raunchy. The rating definitely suprised me considering it had lots of nudity. As well it had the words sh*t and f*ggot used a lot. Another reason it seemed to be strange to be PG-13 was it had lots of smoking, drinking, and drugs. It also made sly and funny comments about sex. It also objectifies women and talks about 23 year-olds having sex with 15 year-olds. But, you might be wondering what do I like about this movie. I am a big fan of comedies, such Central Intelligence, the jokes in the movie where funny. As well as the cover-up from the parents. It was also great watching the 2 main characters become the top-dogs. Definitely recommend.

great but has adult theme

This is a great film but it has a lot of adult theme as there are kissing at one stage a lady holds on to someones bottom and then there is a young boy smoking a cigar and drinking alcohol. There is a also scenes where you find the lady in very revealing clothes which seems to just be out and the lady that kisses the boys is 25 and the boys are just 16 therefore that is wrong. There is also swearing and violence.

Funny Film completely the Opposite of Serious

This film was funny, but that's all it had going for it. Absolutely no emotional value what so ever. The largest warning I'd give to parents are the sexual situations in it. When creating the woman you see, briefly, a few Playboy magazines. There is a scene where the boys shower with the woman. And, it's implied that that the boys did something with their love interests near the end of the film. It's not clear if they had sex or not though. To summarize the movie, two teenage boys create the woman of their dreams in attempt to satisfy their sexual desires and make them "cool". However, they find that the woman's ideas aren't necessarily good ones. *** SPOILER ALERT*** The end reminds me of Ferris Bueller's Day Off, my favorite movie and another one of John Hughes's films. The boys made many bad decisions and there were no consequences to them; also, the parents are completely oblivious to everything that happened. ***SPOILER ENDS*** Overall, this is just a movie meant to be taken as a joke. There is really no seriousness in it at all. Anyone who knows anything about teenage boys will understand the jokes.
